What RoastLogger Is...

RoastLogger is an application that allows home coffee roasters to keep track of techniques and blends used by storing logs, in the hope that the archiving/sharing of this information helps themselves and others enjoy great coffee!

What RoastLogger Does...

RoastLogger is very much a work in progress, and hopefully over time the functionality will grow into whatever its user base requires.

For the moment, RoastLogger can be used to store information on a roast such as bean variety, mass, and 1st/2nd crack (and total) times. Notes can also be taken on the roast process itself, and most importantly, the taste!

A collection of such notes can be saved locally, or alternatively can be shared, by "publishing" them, enabling the resulting file to be uploaded to a website, or simply shared between multiple computers.

Why RoastLogger?

Before RoastLogger, many home roasters would take notes on their roasts, recording information such as bean mass, temperatures and times etc.

The problem with this arrangment is that each individual would store his/her own notes in a unique format. This made the exchange of this information awkward.

As a beginner home roaster, having the knowledge of the experts available in an easily accessible format would be an invaluable aid (and would save the regulars at alt.coffee a lot of time)!
